ROOTED..ARE WE??
Rooted…. Are we???
‘Back to roots’ is what we hear most
often now. If we are grounded then going back is not even essential. What am I
saying? There is not much need of a theme of this sort to be discussed now. We
come across a whirlwind of topics under aggressive discussion across different
media platforms. I would like to focus your attention to certain things, which
we often tend to forget.
The power of making decisions is
man’s gift. We make decisions based on who we are. It is to an extend,
influenced by our childhood, our school days. Once we enter college, our
horizons widen, we think and act based on what we have perceived all these
years. More exposure means more understanding of what happens around further
forward and us our take on those events. That is how our moulting occurs, from
the cocoon we have been in. There is amusement and doubt, but we tend to
embrace everything new that comes across our way with the two mentioned factors
prevailing. There’s absolutely nothing wrong in that. It is the shades, which
have to choose wisely, as we all know there’s nothing entirely black or white. Haven’t
you seen people who blindly follow the latest fashion trends? We have also
heard many telling that they don’t blindly follow the trend; instead they
choose the one’s which suits them the best. If you are being blind, then use
the inner light to choose what is right if your eyes are open then, let there
be light. A light that helps us understand the intricacies of what is in front
of us.
Our roots ultimately matter, by that
I mean our culture and beliefs. Beliefs are fostered through experience and
culture from the place of our existence.
Both these nourish the sprouting of the seeds sown early, as we grow. As
I write this I am clueless about the whole point of what I am jotting down. It
so happens that there is a sudden surge of thoughts at a point that I am unable
to trap in my mind. It is running a perfect show there (in my mind), I am
overwhelmed and it feels like it’s being stored but no. I lost it somewhere.
All of us tend to loose track of what we ought to do. We ignore our
responsibility and it’s just actions; failing to notice what the reaction might
be.
In the current scenario of the
deluge in Kerala, humanity is what has reigned. That is must be the religion
after all. But isn’t it necessary to ponder upon the cause for the titanic
floods? The reason is, the equal and opposite reaction for all the actions
combined. Look back, nothing was rooted, all were uprooted, so the reaction was
alike, displacing what we had built. We took lives thinking that they didn’t
have a life may be it thought the same. If we were a wee bit more sensitive,
ecologically I mean. We are not here for no reason. There is a part to be
played, big or small, it counts. As we bring our fellow beings back to life, remember
that there’s more to be done. It’s high time that we respect the place we live
in. It becomes essential to understand our ‘roots’ at this call of the hour. We
belong here, we love one another despite the differences we posses, love Mother
Nature too. With love comes care and responsibility. Work on that relationship,
may it be strong enough that all of us remain rooted.
Nice message..but only nature lovers can do that.. May be botanists like us
