DREAMS ON THIS SIDE OF THE LAKE

DREAMS ON THIS SIDE OF THE LAKE

Your dream, unsaid, untold
Hints thrown, left unnoticed
You let the dream sleep,
it was convenient that way,
Any feelings were swayed off as delusions.
Never dared to pursue the dream.
Who was at fault?
Every finger would point you; that is the norm
Flip the coin for once and you shall find the reason.
Buried under the pressure of responsibility,
duty called always, destiny had its way
You thought may be that was it,
You pushed harder to give your best
Like or dislike never really mattered.
All along it was figuring out what it was,
on the other side of the pasture, greener enough?
It may look greener now, may be it is not.
It’s better to be on this side;
less green, destiny’s choice.
But being unhappy is same on either side,
Dare to dream and the bridge will be laid,
Push harder and a new life will be born.
Sans confidence, there is no dream;
Sans the dream you are not you.
Let the dream define you, and time will play its part.
You will cross the bridge, to the side of your dreams
the luster of the pasture doesn’t matter.
